Future Blogger Chronicles
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Future Blogger Chronicles stores journal entries, ideas, content plans, dates, platform labels, status and notes on your device. Your profile name, selected platforms, appearance and reminder preference are also kept locally. When sync is available, the app sends journal entries, ideas and content plans to its backend under a random installation identifier. The backend stores a hash of the installation secret, not the secret itself. The service and Railway infrastructure necessarily receive request metadata such as IP address, request path and time when the app connects; server error logs can contain a request identifier, method and path. We do not require an account, email address or password and do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
How we use information
Local data lets you write, edit, plan, view activity statistics, export a JSON archive and schedule optional on-device reminders. The backend keeps an installation-scoped copy of entries, ideas and content items so the app can sync pending changes after a connection returns. Request metadata is processed to deliver the service, operate hosting and diagnose failures.
Service providers and sharing
The backend and database run on Railway, which processes hosted data and infrastructure requests for this app. Network operators and the device platform may process connection metadata as part of normal service delivery. We do not sell personal data or send it to advertisers or analytics providers. If you choose Export JSON, the iOS share sheet sends the file only to destinations you select; those destinations have their own practices.
Data retention
Local records remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Synced records and the installation record remain on the backend until you use Delete all data. If the device is offline, its deletion request is queued locally and sent when a connection returns. Railway or database infrastructure may retain backups and operational logs under its own service settings; we do not state a fixed period because one is not configured in this application. A JSON export remains wherever you save or share it until you remove it there.
Deleting your information
Settings > Delete all data removes journal entries, ideas, content plans and local profile settings, then requests deletion of the installation and all associated server records. If offline, the server deletion remains pending and needs the app to reconnect. Once the server confirms deletion, the app removes the installation secret from Keychain. Removing the app clears its local records but does not by itself send a server deletion request. Contact leanne.avenell@icloud.com for privacy questions or help with a deletion request. There is no account recovery: losing the installation secret can make an old server copy inaccessible from the app.
Permissions and your choices
The app asks for notification permission only if you enable local reminders. It uses this permission for a daily writing prompt and content deadline reminders. You can turn reminders off in the app and revoke notification permission in iOS Settings. The app does not request location, camera, contacts or photo library permission.
Your privacy rights
You can inspect, edit and delete records in the app and export your entries, ideas and content plan as JSON. You can request information about your data or raise a privacy concern at leanne.avenell@icloud.com. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location. Because the app has no account and cannot recover a lost installation secret, include your current installation context when contacting us without sending the secret itself.
Security
The app uses HTTPS to connect to its backend. A random secret scoped to one installation is held in iOS Keychain; the backend stores only a SHA-256 hash and checks it before accessing private records. Local records use the app's iOS data container. Backend queries are scoped to the authenticated installation. No security measure eliminates every risk, so protect device access and exported files.
Children’s privacy
Future Blogger Chronicles is a personal planning and journaling tool for bloggers and is not directed at children. It has no child-specific account or social features. A parent or guardian with a privacy concern can contact leanne.avenell@icloud.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, hosting or data handling change. The updated policy will appear at this page with a new effective date. Material changes to collection or sharing will be reflected in the app and policy before the changed processing is introduced.
